It can be difficult to establish the practice of mindfulness as part of our daily routine, so begin by creating ‘mindful moments’: choose one mundane daily task, preferably something that you do several times a day like washing your hands/making a coffee /doing the dishes and commit to doing this single task mindfully for seven days. Each time you find yourself completing your chosen task, bring your full awareness to what you are doing, engage as many of your senses (sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing) as possible and try to focus solely on the task in hand.

A wise man said that even forgetting to be mindful is more mindful than having no awareness at all! So don’t criticise yourself if you forget to mindfully complete your task for a day or two –  just pick up where you left off.
